The Discovery of the VERY SAME HOLE now regarded as the Josephine
at Hoyt Peak however...
The first Mention of "a Spanish Mine at Hoyt Peak" by Utah's newest immigrants, was in 1852
after Marshall Kimball arrested Spaniards in Utah for slave trading. In the article the mine in question was refereed to by the author as the Josephine, but there is no indication that the Spaniards that Marshal Kimball arrested refereed to it as the Josephine mine.
After which, First Found By, William Bird and William Bird Jr. in 1898
