Southern Utah, A Treasure Trove of Glyphs sites and remnant of ancient villages...
Many years ago, one of my many guides in southern Utah took me to a site which he just knew I was going to love, he was right, as we stood and gazed at the many glyphs, he asked what I thought they meant. I told him I could not possibly tell the whole of it, but some of the glyphs are referring to a village hidden from this location, he asked where I thought it was. I told him according to the glyphs the village was to the east and on that hill ...pointing.... you would have thought I told him there was gold buried over there as he and one other scampered off to the hill which was near 300 yards east. Sure enough, there it was.
These photos are of the Glyph site we were standing at. These photos are courtesy of Rick Crawford as mine have disappeared. There are actually several sites like this one in the area... if you are familiar with this site and visit it again, go to the east and see the ruins... walk softly ...

Tracking the Glyphs using "Locator" Glyphs
I have decided to reveal a small part of my secret in locating glyphs and
other things that many do not know of, but forgive me if I am cryptic... it is for good cause...
If you see the glyphs as art, this is all you will ever see. And I support you...
If you see the glyphs as an intended message for other generations, and this is what you seek, you are more apt to find the answer... and I am willing to share.
The problem and the solution are the same, in that
"You WILL find exactly what you seek"
If you seek to disprove a thing, you will no doubt find it even if that thing is truth.
If you seek to prove a thing even if it is a false hood, you will also find that...
So for those of you have have not closed the mind, consider the following as Hypothesis as you must, because this is my truth proven to me for near 30 years, done with an agenda
to prove as well as disprove, the only way to find the truth of any matter...
I think I have earned my place.
Draw you attention to the hieroglyph in the above picture or symbol "combination"
(Dot Line Dot) which can be considered as a symbol alone, but is actually a hieroglyph or combination of two or more symbols together.
Focusing on the dot line dot ONLY, if you approach this glyph, line up the dots and travel that direction and you will find more glyphs. How far? I think I will hold that little secret for now, but suffice it to say, this glyph has NEVER failed me in a hundred plus instances... lets just call it, my rule of thumb...
Another example of the dot line dot crossing another incorporated symbol which adds meaning to the whole... The Line MUST be touching each dot. If it is not, it takes on a similar meaning, of go "from" here "to" here... but likely will not lead you to another glyph site...
This is a surviving panel in the unofficial Soldier Pass shooting range that I cannot believe still exists... How it has escaped decades of bullets I will never know, but what I do know, is that it contains locator instructions to some thing not far away...
This panel without explanation, tell's you to ascend or go up from where you are, over the top of the ledge and across the flat above to "here" hmmm... why?
My first Panel ever...
at the bottom right is a combination of symbols forming a hieroglyph, the meaning of which is "cross over here and travel to the top of the next hill."
At that point you find the next set of instructions. (Next Photo)
I think I will with hold this one at this time... suffice it to say, it leads to the next glyph location not to far away.
Now although I did not find the next intended glyph I did find others designed to put you back on track which are similar in nature to this one in the above image. Had I stayed on track and had a sharp eye in these days of my beginning... I would have located this small inconspicuous symbol which simply says turn and go up. How far? Why? and What? This glyph is about 3 inches high and about the same wide, I have stood people in front of it 4 feet away and they still could not see it.
Keep in mind some of these images have been enhanced so that it can be understood what part I am referring to.
This glyph would be the next glyph found by following to previous instructions. I knew it this point that I was near the end of the trail, as this small panel has no travel indicators, and it tells you what to look for...
I will hold my tongue on the majority but the symbol shaped as a small hill which indicates "hidden" or "Covering" (a Base Meaning) however if the subject is understood the proper derivative word can be inserted giving the meaning by it's placement above the main glyph, "All of this" (the main glyph and meaning) "is hard to see" or "is Hidden"
But where do I go now? To the left and slightly higher was the answer to that question. See Following Image.
Again without explanation, the above hieroglyph loosely reads,
"There is a man made object made for holding something or is holding something"
"From this side or outcrop, travel down over the ledges, across the gully (indicated by natural "rock incorporation") to here"
The final glyph which I knew had to be there, escaped me for another dozen or so visits to the site, until one day, I slowed down and focused on the little things... and there it was, right where I said it was months before.
What does this final glyph in this obscure trail say? What was /is it that is important enough to create this hidden path of almost a half mile away from the main panel?
I could answer that... but as the experts have told me, "that's speculation" "it's just doodling", "it's cowboy scribbling", "its rock "art" "It is only meant for the author to understand" "Pure conjecture" I have heard it all...
I have been assured by the "experts" that it is not a written language... although not one shred of evidence exists to support the claim...
The bottom line is, it means exactly what you want it to mean...
I hope you enjoyed this and should the skeptic gaze upon this and feel compelled out of pride to comment...let the comment be to their own condemnation...
There are none so blind... as those who WILL NOT see....
Keep in mind if you should choose to pursue this hobby, it took me 18 months to track from the first panel to the intended target, but this was my first panel... are you sure you have what it takes? ;-)

Valentines day one Year ago
Valentines day 2015 couldn't have been a better day. A day with emotional offsets and struggles yet at the same time, spending it with old friends, new friends and family. As I strolled down memory lane remembering the time so long ago, and the reasons I was there so many years ago, it was nice to return regardless. A week or so ago I realized a few of the sites I had not been to in 28 years I had nothing but scanned 35 millimeter photos, and I decided to revisit these places to re shoot the panels. 8unfortunately, there was allot of shooting, but it wasn't by cameras... This first panel I wasn't even sure where it was, but although my mother cooked with aluminum, we did find it. Thank You to all who participated and literally risked their lives to look for it as bullets ricochet around us
Nick named by Ron Lee many years ago, the Barry Manilow Glyph.
I had not seen this since Ron and I found it about 28 years ago.
Back then however we did not have bullets ricocheting all around us.
It was a little nerve racking getting these photos.
Below the Barry Manilow glyph.
I had forgotten this one even existed
Above the Barry Manilow glyph.
Lake Mountain Glyph
This is a virtually unknown location of which I would prefer to keep it that way, as well as the next few photos near this site. When we arrived, some one had just set up his shooting range and was about the pepper the hillside, Fortunately we were able to inform him of the glyphs and to please be cautious of his aim.
This is the second panel I had ever found and still unknown to
BLM and State Archaeologists to my knowledge.
This photo is digitally enhanced due to heavy lichen overgrowth and darkness of the patina.
This is how it looks now... It was hard enough to find 30 years ago, now it is even harder to find...
MY FIRST PANEL which I found over 29 years ago.
Digitally enhanced as I have never been able to get good lighting on this one.
The patina is very dark and I would dare say, these last two are among the oldest glyphs in the state.
The following image is how it looks without the enhancements, it is very difficult to get a
good image of this one...
There is an interesting story that goes with the glyphs we visited this day and some we did not, perhaps some day I will tell when the sceptics are subdued, this may be art to some, but it was not intended to be, it is a message from the past, for a future generation. To each his own... I have better things to do than argue with academic know it alls...
Of all the site I discovered in my first three years the following site use to be amazing to visit, it now stands as a monument oblitrated to all those who claim to be concerned, claim to exist for the purpose of preserving this nations history of the Native American, this site I have watched with a tear in my eye, shot to pieces, panels stolen, and the last time I visited the site, the remaining panel seen below had taken a bullet hit, I don't know how it has survived this long as a back drop for a gun range... I doubt it is still there, I don't want to go back to see... However my thanks goes out to the only BLM employee and only individual who did all he could with red tape tied hands... Perhaps if we would stop viewing it as Art and see it as history.... if not, maybe we can start viewing our old books as nothing more than art...
Some of the oldest glyphs in Utah Set One
These are among some of the oldest glyphs in the State of Utah
I would be surprised if the glyphs are still there.

3 Kings Panel Dryfork
Click on the pics for larger images
I have shared this one many times in the past, it seems to be a fovorite as I get request for it often, it is just one of those places I just can't get enough of.
I wish I could tell the half of this site and what it means, what has occurred here and what remains hidden... the mystery of this panel. Much speculation exist concerning this site, and those things in which I say about it, should be considered as the same, for the truth lies within... whether it manifest itself to you or not, is another story. Truth has a way of escaping the common eye and is only seen by those who seek truth diligently with a true love of the truth and an eye single to the glory of the creator.

What mystery does this panel speak of? Does it have to do with the Utes, Anasazi, Aztec, the Roman Colonies, King Solomon or perhaps even King Aurthor? Does this panel have to do with the mythical seven cities of Cibola and the mysterious missing lake Copala? Perhaps not... Perhaps... Some things are just best left unsaid... I am still asked to this day how I got these photo shots.... well... ya do what ya gotta do... it will remain my secret ;-)
Regardless... enjoy...
